The bike looks fantastic - paintwork is awesome (as my 6 year old daughter would say).

I presume that no expense was spared or will be spared on the build. Could you give me some idea of the cost of the paintwork?

Wish i had the money to do something like this, i am pondering buying a good frame for a long term project at the moment and your bike is a superb example of what could be done.

Droooooooooooooooooooool......

I'll send you a pm about the paint cost. It was done by ColourTech in Dartford.

The fee covered the removal the old paint and a stuck BB cup, respray, apply the decals (which I supplied) and the white details and then a clear coat.

I thought it was very resonable for the amount of work he put into it and the result.

He also gave me a little pot of paint to touch any stone chips in the future.

Good service and I think very fair value.

Not quite sure what to do about the fork decals.

See http://www.redvelo.co.uk/pinarello/my-m ... orks.shtml

The chrome on the forks is original and the decals are too, the only decals that had survived, although a bit battered.

I have replacement decals but I'm thinking I'll leave the time served decals in place.

I'm not trying to turn the clock back and produce a bike that looks like it has just come out of the factory, I want it to have some references to it's near 30 years of existance.

What do people think?
