What bike for my wife?

Hi all

My wife wants a Mountain Bike to replace her BSO that weighs more than she does.

She currently has a ladies frame, with dropped top tube, and wants something that is still feminine. She's 5'9-5'10, with about a 34" inside leg. I've just about persuaded her to go with a mens frame, albeit a smaller one. Thinking Kona or similar, hoping to get one for under £100

I've never bought a bike with a lady in mind. Any idea on sizing, and any other ideas or suggestions?

With a 34 leg she could probably fit more bikes than half of the rb membership! They be midgets.

I would look for a bargain with good parts then if she gives up you can strip it :lol:

Kona or marin I would buy

I'm 6'1" with 34" inside leg! Anyway, given that it sounds like your mrs is all legs I would suggest something with a short wheelbase akin to LGF's green machines, http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... +wheelbase

I know. I'm 6'1 and am only 35" inside leg, but I found her jeans, and they say 36" inside leg. I'm assuming some of that'll be heel, but she doesn't wear massive heels, so doubt it will be more than a couple of inches
