Are the pull ratio's the same for an xc pro and a similar period xt rear mech?.....in other words, will a rear xc pro mech work ok with a thumbie in index mode?........... :D

Shimano have a sort of floating jockey wheel don't they? I think I recall that it makes a difference?

Yes Sram changed the ratio to 1.1

LGF is right it works but takes a lot of fiddling to get right, whereas XC pro thumbies and XT rear work pretty sweetly thanks to the floating pully on the XT mech  :D

it'll work fine.

the problems occur with suntour shifters having varying amounts of cable pull between gears, shimano having the same gap between each cog.

The floating jockey is a godsend...

I've yet to try my Suntour Thumbies, and Suntour rear mech on my shimano cassette though...

Best I could do......

shifters'll work with the Rear mech fine but depends on the cassette too

I've never had any problems doing this.
