I reckon thats an 89. 1988, the decals were the same, but they had the chainstay U-brake. 1990, They'd changed the decals to the outlined Specialized on the TT, and just the cursive Hardrock on the DT without the coloured 'patches', ie.

I though it was a 89 myself, I would have liked to find a u-brake version but this was a very good price and its my size :) . The plan is to give it a good overhaul, fit an Exage crank to go with the wheels I have put on and thats it, a nice cheep summer retro ride. :D
