Saw this advertised this morning and it was an instant "i'll 'av that" .
She's not posh, but bitd I remember seeing one in the LBS and thinking WOW! (I was only 11)

Anywho she seems to be totally as per original spec AND all working, even both Elite water bottles and cages are there 8)
Sadly the Farmer John's Nephew's are showing signs of cracking (they've still got some nobbly bits on them) and the saddle seems to be loosing it's skin :(
It looks more pink in the brochure but it's pearlescent and only goes pink when the light ctches it right.

I've only given her a quick scrub, will do a proper job next week.

Cheers,

As she's all working i'm going to take her for a little bimble tomorrow and see what she's like before going for the full strip, clean and rebuild

I had the 1992 model in Grello and 531 Magnum. I do have a soft spot for these simply as they were the LBS' brand.

Here's my 89 Spectre, owned from new. Has been repainted twice since this ~1991 pic.

Very similar 501 frame with full Mountain LX groupset, £373 at the time. Will upload the 89 brochure at some point.

Yep, very similar, looks like mine has chunkier tubes (sticker says 501 magnum), different colour and STI rather than thumbies.

Have you still got yours?

Yeah, although I literally just retired it as it needs money throwing at it. Has taken a beating over the years and a lot from the first pic still survives!

Mine has more old-school skinny forks and straighter (slightly wonky) chainstays which mean fat rear tyres won't fit. Shimano rear drop-outs as well.

The original paint was very weak hence the repaints. Here's a 2011 pic with current Hammerite paint job...
