Having owned a Swift for a bit my only suggestion is buy stuff that is as light as you feel safe to ride.

The frame and forks ride much lighter than their weight would suggest but quite easily they can get a bit "porky".

Have a search for AverageMarks's on here. That's SS and sub 24lbs.

I always think the Swift has a nice retro look, for that reason I'd avoid black stuff and too racy a look. White industries eno cranks, pauls hubs, BB7's with pauls levers, thomson posts and stem in silver, maybe a surly torsion bar, brooks saddle, fat rims like the velocity P35.

I've ridden a few, having done a few races guest riding on the Singular team, and I think they are fantastic. I'd snap it up if I were you! Unless you can afford a Pegasus :D

Yes. They are that good. Mines on here somewhere, they are heavy, but weirdly don't ride heavy. Anyone tried one with 470 forks on? fancy speeding the handling on mine up a bit as well as loseing some weight.

I can't comment on the ride qualities of the Swift (so should keep my mouth shut, I suppose..) but if it's anywhere near as nice as the Hummingbird (and I'm sure it is) then it'll be great.
The Hummingbird is a gem, in my opinion.

Thanks, that sounds good. Not sure all those Pauls goodies are within budget  But it's a good start...
