Why don't Germans like Paypal?

Well, I guess none of us like Paypal - but for most it is a necessary (but useful) evil.

Do they have different financial rules in Germany that makes it unpopular?

Yes I gues it is because all banktransfers from EU country to EU country are free. It is also quite irritating we have to pay to tranfer to the UK. So I guess germans don't use much paypal because bank transfer is most of the time free, only takes a little longer. I have paypal (ok I'm dutch) but I also buy and sell from and to UK and USA

Also Euro countries??
It should be free to transfer in euro's.

Maybe beacause Denmark hansn't joined the EU with EMU III (or II, I dont know but that's why they dont have the Euro yet.

When it's not free it's a rip off, my bank wanted to charge £17

I think whatever it is they shoot themselves in the foot. Better to swallow the 4% and open yourself up to a bigger market.
