Some old Parts

I don't know anything at all about old school road bikes being a bmx'r, however because of my cycling background I was asked if I could help a friend of mine find out some information on the following parts. I'm not sure what he wants to do it at the moment but I said I knew a site where he may get some info from.

why dont any of my friends have this sort of stuff kicking around?

Thats a lot of nice stuff. I'm sure someone on here will give you a full inventory off the top of their head! all very sellable if thats his plan - or beeter to put around a frame and ride!

If just to sell, ebay is your friend - a couple of minutes research will bring up a few leads.

The early Dura-Ace is picking up in price at the moment

Personally, I would love to buy the bar-end shifters and a long cage 600 rear mech

But, its up to your friend

*edit

the campagnolo box even has a value as do original catalogues

Your friend has some nice stuff there, if you can find a frame you could make a nice bike from them or you could sell them on here and I am sure there would be plenty of interest! Personally I would love the 10 speed set at the bottom...

campag brake cable guides

Goodness ! How many people do you know who wish they had a friend with this stuff lieing around ????
If your mate does want to sell can I have first dibs on the CAMPAG BRAKE CABLE GUIDES, ( that's the ones around your finger )
Ta. :D

You'll probably make a bit more money on some pieces on ebay, but you'd make people very happy selling them here!

For the record, I'd like to register my interest in the three Campagnolo cable guides, and the Shimano hubs.

Cheers,
Gareth.

What sort of price should I ask for these parts. Was chatting to my friend the other night and he was keen to avoid ebay because of all the hassle and fees.

Are there any additional markings on the hubs to identify the model? There may be something stamped on the dustcaps.

The brake cable guides are available via Nigel at campyoldy.co.uk for £12 for a set of three in a paper envelope, like you have there. LGF has linked a few auctions above that look reasonable in terms of closing bid. Searching completed listings on ebay is often useful and informative eg:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-Shimano-D ... 0693747935

For the catalogies, boxes, cases, small parts etc you're probably better off putting them on ebay for 99p starting price and no reserve and see how high they run. I have no idea how you'd establish a value on here, or find a seller.

Cheers,
Gareth.
