Busy boy at the minute as me and my mates have decided to go on mass cycling pub crawls this summer, to try and find that balance between biking and beer! This should be a quick build as I've been saving a DX groupset and a set of polished onza ho's for something I had planned but they're going to go on this.

This one is for the mrs, started off as a tatty red '93 BofE with an LX groupset, I stripped the frameset back to the metal . . . then I lost interest and sold it to Crantinope he had it powder coated a very nice baby blue with metal flake applied the graphics I supplied with the frame and then he lost interest so I bought it back. :D

So here it is in it's new skin. . .

got to love a bote

never should have sold mine
that went throught the same process i stripped it and sold it
got painted then i got it back lol

Yeah but it looks so much better in real life my camera phone pictures don't do it justice anyway thanks for all the comments lads, I've had a bit of time to tinker with it so the wheels are looking good.

The rims are Mavic 231s and after a bit of a scrub with a brillo pad have come up like new the hubs are DX and are looking good now but still need some work on the bearings, had to replace a few nipples and a new set of Onza Aggro Kevlar tyres, ok they're both fronts but isn't that the retro way? :D

Right the purests amongst you will appreciate the fact that gears and brakes are from the same year as the frameset but don't give me a hard time on some of the other bits as I had to take the rider into account.

Needed a nice wide Riser so I've gone with a steve peat assassin attached to a polished x-lite fly matched to a polished x-lite metal matrix post, the saddle is a Charge Ladle (Lady Saddle) in brown with baby blue rails and the grips are dual density things unsure of the make but they're brown with baby blue stars so a good match for the saddle.

I really don't like the shape of most womens saddles, they're normally to bulky and look wrong on the bike but this one is wide and flat so I think it looks quite good. :D

Cool man

Looks like a nice comfy bike is almost complete!

Also like the way it's properly though out, in terms of aesthetics and most importantly ergonomics

Impressive stuff - What does the Mrs think?

She really likes it mate, it the metal it looks far better the baby blue with metal flake finish really sparkles and as with any of these old 'dales it's incredibly light!

Nice one! I owned a 96 Beast of the East BITD. Very nice bike and great for trial riding with that high BB.
Those brakes look great on any bike!
