I purchased my Zaskar, new in October 1993

The serial number starts '1193***'

According to others, that means it was manufactured a month after I bought it yet the bike had been in Mike's Bikes Cambridge since early 1993 (with my dribble on it).

Discuss...

1193.... should be 'november 1993' and mostly a 1994 series Zaskar
(because bikes were produced several months before delivery).

Is it a real Kaskar? ;)

I suspect not ;) on closer inspection it did look like an Avalanche.......

At the time you bought it did you have one of these installed in your car:

I read your first post, but in Zaskar terms it should be....

Maybe some first delivery when they started canti-mounts instead of the U-brake???? But that still doesnt explain the 11-93 :?

Just guessing..

Is it this one?

Then it has flat cap, alu frame, so a Zaskar.

I bought it, new in the shop in October 1993, I had on the same day, bought an RTS frame but as I couldnt find a decent set of built up wheels in the whole of Cambridge, I took the RTS frame back and bought the Zaskar as a complete bike instead all £1400 of it.

I took the bike home on the bus.

It was the number 73, Cambridge - Huntingdon

Cloudy with sunny spells, 15c

I will stop guessing.

Well, in this case there's only one who might shine some light on the framenumber....KEV!!!!
