Two different kinds of bikes that take a different riding style.

The Pulse will take finesse. It should be a strong climber, lightweight, and precise. Pick your lines wisely coming back down the mountain.

The Cake will require more saddle time and a smooth, steady pedal stroke on climbs. I don't think out of saddle mashing will get you much.
Coming back down, you will be faster than your Pulse.

I haven't found hardtails to be faster or slower than full suspension bikes.

Though I will say that the faster you go, the more valuable full suspension becomes.

If you go down hill at 3mph....doesn't matter what bike you're riding.

you hit the nail on the head there rumpfy lol!!! trouble is the more i use the pulse the more i dont use the cake
