Leave it be! It looks right as it is, and no mass produced modern fork will come close!

It may be better than the modern ones, but it ain't a patch on the originals, ride wise, looks wise or weight wise; half a pound heavier, with looks to match. A Kilauea desreves better. Salsa Cromoto is a better fork than a Project 2, in my opinion.
Tapered legs, stainless dropouts, available in 425mm and not a silly price either.

The Salsa cromoto is a brilliant fork for the money.
Owned one for a while now on a couple of bikes easily the most comfortable rigid fork I have ridden.
Just over 1000g with the steerer cut.
Just cut the canti bosses off of mine today for a new project

I prefer the non tapered style, on that frame at least I think it would look better. 1kg seems very heavy for a non susser fork.
