A neighbour has given me his Alpinestars Al-Mega to do a bit of a clean-up and service for him. It's been in a shed for years and he's now dug it out and wants to get it back on the road. In essence everything is pretty much fine ('cept needing a new stem) but the frame is a bit of a mess. I can't see any cracks but there is a significant amount of scrapes, chips, and unsightly marks. Given there appears to be no cracks and all the original parts seem fine do you think it's worth looking at getting the frame resprayed? I'm guessing powdercoating is the way forward here although I have only ever had steel powdercoated. What do you guys think?
It's clearly a cool bike and I am just thinking for a smallish outlay it could look great.
