It says sun birmingham on it, its been resprayed, I think its green under it.

10 speed, rear derailleur says campagonolo patent, front is simplex.

its mostly grime and surface gunk other than that on it.

totally complete! anyone any idea what this is?

Smashing bike, one of my all time favs....
My first ever racer was a Sun... :D ... :D

I look forward to it being returned to it's former glory........

no, if you look at the front badge it says sun birmingham not sun worksop?

I'm wondering is this 61 takeover pre raleigh? pre crespera lugs too, its mid sixities at least, im just wondering is it older?

If it says Birmingham then it pre Carlton/Raleigh owner ship!

Nice find.

On the rear dropout there should be a stamped code, the year can be worked out from this. If you could put up a view of the front lugs and the seat lug it might help. Also whats the seat pin diameter. Thanks Terry

I think its 07V4408

it could also be 0TV4408

If you look side on it has the Sun struts off the seattube as well.

I'll take some more pics tomorrow hopefully.

Are you sure about the first digit, 'O' makes it 1947, which it clearly isn't, could it be a 'U'. My guess at this point, assuming they are nervex lugs which look a possible from this distance, the pump braze ons on the top tube, and twin shifter braze ons it could be a 1954 - 1958 Sun Wasp. Thanks Terry

Looks pre-Raleigh takeover, mechs are more recent I think, the rear is a Valentino by the looks of it, it should say somewhere.
