Retro Guru
So here we have the last of my projects to be started

1980 Dave LLoyd frame and forks - 21 1/2 " Reynolds 531 SL.

OK so technically it is not a 'readers bike' as yet.... but it surely will be.

I have a plan for this machine !!!

Nice frame... feels light... I like the angles, I like the forks, the lugs...

Going to try and give this a little flair. The frame speaks for itself I think.

Got a bit of a buzz visualizing this completed.

See what you think.....

Give those Italians a run for their money!!

Seriously here are a few bits going on.

The Dave Lloyd will have a mixture of components, I don't want to be a slave to one groupset when I now have a few goodies in the bin which should look well on the frame.

I'm kind of straddling 1980' with the components so have not stuck rigidly to that year. It is more about what the feel of the bike will be about. And of course what the ride will be.

So here we have an early stronglight 107 chainset. Used

I also had a stronglight 104 chainset of a Peugeot I was toying with using.

A modolo speedy brake set.......fresh fresh fresh new in the box.

Shimano 6207 rear derailleur

Perache super light saddle on a san marco post.

I like my bikes simple but purposeful with a spoon full of understated coolness!! Ha! ha!

Wheels

Rims....
I have a set of Wolber Super Champion tub rims being laced to campagnolo hubs as we speak. Did have some black G40 clinchers but fancy the silver Wolbers.

headset

Got this miche item going on.

Toss up between that and a stronglight A9.
I know I have the stronglight cranks but the miche has nice visual appeal. Both work equally well.

I'll make a final decision when she is resprayed.
