Just returned home with it in the rain. Long round trip, but it looks pretty good. A bit dirty, it has been in the chaps shed for the last 11 years :shock: :shock: :shock: .
The photo shows nothing other than the fact it is on my car

Glad to see some nice handbuilt british metal getting a loving home.

I think you got a bargain there, had it been pretty much anything else it would have cost twice as much and not have been half as good.

I agree, all in all, it seems to be in fantastic condition, no colour fading, no surface rust, full DX groupset, nice Rigida rims hardly worn, decals pretty much all intact. It has a little bit of chainsuck, a ropey old seatpost/ saddle/grips, but that isn't too much to complain about (don't know about those tyres though, I think they might be on their way even tho they are brand new)

Could be my daily rider I think. I really like it

Some daylight (-sun) shots below. Will start cleaning it up next week.

Raleigh always seemed to skimp on the grips and saddles as I guess they figured that they are so personal that a lot of people would change them anyway so why bother with expensive kit if it was going to be changed anyway.

There's a very similar frame to that occasionally locked up in our bike shed at work.

I'll make a point of having a look next time I walk past, I definitely remember seeing the Raleigh imprint in the ends of the seat stays and thinking it was a nice detail.
