But standard leads ARE coax - but cheap cruddy coax with the outer spun round the inner.
Good quality stuff has the outer conductor braided. That way the inner remains properly shielded even when the cable runs round a tight radius. I'm sure that these cables will be braided inside.
 
OK , well these cables are actually military grade solid tubes of copper with an insulator surrounding a solid copper core. TWO of them for each chanel ( then sleaved ) , one for the + and one for the - :shock:
