M960 XTR Question

No.A quick check shows "normal" m960 rear mechs available.

Shimano now use a fifferent M number for rapid rise and normal. But not with M960.

I have to say your wrong afaik

RD-M960 was only rapid-rise in long and medium cage

Also M95x series had different numbers for normal and rapid-rise.

Of course I don't mind being proven wrong on the M960, I've only just learnt M95x series stuff ;)

Bugger.Could well be wrong there.

Rapid rise has a "clut" following so what did shimano do for a proper rear mech ? Did they do a M961 ?
Not that I know of and if they did the 961 would be the rapidrise and 960 normal

M95x even was normal and odd was rapid.

Although Rapid Rise takes some getting used to, if does work well. Swapping between different bikes with opposite shift directions is a little odd though.

You can always cheat and do what i Did Wu and get an 6600 Ultegra SL - near same finish as M960 XTR
