What brake pads.

What pads should I be fitting back on to the bike, the fronts look fine but the back are well worn? They are the originals that come on the bike so I guess there are better compounds out there now to do the job. They are marked Weinmann SR 75-82.

Chains,

How do I know what size I need, I have taken the old one of and cleaned and it looks OK. Not to much stretch but one side is corroded in places so I guess I will need to replace it.

Any help where to get replacements.

Thanks again.

Brian.

You need to give us a bit more information...otherwise I'd merely advise that you avoid anchor chains...

How many gears? 5/6/7/8/9/10/11 speed cassette/ freewheel?

Sorry

6 speed freewheel ( I think ) Helcimatic thing. Double chain ring.

Any thing else you might need to know?

Cheers Brian.

I'd fit standard rubber blocks or Fibrax ones. Fibrax have a leather strip that works better when it's wet if you have chrome wheels. I haven't had a chance to use mine in anger in the wet yet, so I can't comment if they make a difference or not.
