Llanrwst Marin Trail

It's not dangerous at reasonable speeds - quite long, great views and all the climbing is on the fire roads. About as authentic a 'real' ride as you'll get with a Forestry Commission trail these days.

The Marin Trail is great. We've been there twice this year as part of the Retrobike calendar.

Mr K is completely right when he states that it's a got a good balance between more natural tracks and manufactured trail centre trails.
It's a long circuit but, in terms of the terrain, it's not beyond the ability of someone new to riding.

Added to that there are some spectacular views to be had.

Stayed there in April with the Mrs. She's no expert and rode all of it. Be warned the rocks/slate gets quite slippy when wet. ;)

I attempted to ride it last night in lashing, torrential rain and high winds.
After an hour and a half and just about getting past half way we decided that it would be safer to bail out and head home.

The good thing about the trail is that at any point you decide to bail out there is a road or fire track nearby to take you outta there. Just take a map so you know you are heading the right way! ;)
