wanted: cheap retro 7\8 speed rear mech

need to be in good working order - need to swap out the LX on the wife's retro CX bike, as I can't get the damn thing to shift properly.

Anyone have anything?

I have an early STX, all chrome jobby. Looks in quite good nick. The sticker came off when I cleaned it last week, but I still have it if interested PM me.

Panic over for now - I've been brave and reassembled my 1989 XT mech, and it all seems to be working. I'll get wifey to take it out for a spin tonight, and see if it's fixed - if not, I'll report back here.
