help id an 1970's reynolds frameset...please??

picked up a 1970's touring bike the other day and cannot for the life of me ID the frameset.
it had full campy NR with barcons and ambrosio 27" wheels.
-"R" stamped on upper BB shell
-"21" stamped under BB shell
-serial number stamped on upper seat tube "73A1387"
-fully chromed frame with no braze ons and campy drops
-rifled steerer tube and cast box crown
-looks like it had a reynolds sticker
-messed up decal has partial word on it "---LYG-E-" (where the - represent unknown letter)

The crimped chainstays would make it unlikely to be a British small builder, but possibly larger maker. Looks continental, the seat cluster would rule out most italians. Perhaps the "73A" refers to a year?
I'm guessing Belgian? The bottom bracket threads may be RH both sides?
Any chance of a look at the remains of the decal/transfer?
Not much help really.

Your frame is probably Cicli Lygie, Italian, and imported into California in some quantity.
The head lugs look well finished, but the rear fork ends could be better.
The seat cluster is not what I would have expected on an Italian of the time.
Hope you have more luck looking it up than I did.

Yes, definitely a Lygie.

It's interesting that this one has both a "Hand Made in Italy" decal and a French head badge with "Marque Déposée - St Etienne":

and the curious spelling "cicles" is neither French ("cycles") nor Italian ("cicli").

I wonder if some were made specifically for the French market. Does yours have an Italian bottom bracket?

it is italian for sure. has italian BB and was spec'd with full campy NR and ambrosio wheels etc etc. thanks for the help. i put it at 1973, as the record rear derailleur was a patent 73 model.
it is all for sale, so PM with interest. more of a project than I have time for right now.
