And today I did......

Got the DH8 pretty much finished barring a few details :) , picked up the E-bay brakes from the PO thismorning, just rode it round the streets for now to set up the gears etc.

Have updated the build thread if anyone wants a look ;)

Today I have been crashing my mtb in Craik Forest, which is 14 miles SW of Hawick in the borders.

You guys might just like Craik, it has two way marked trails the longer and better of which is the Crib Law Trail, 11 miles long. Its a long steady climb on forest roads to about half way round then its mostly singletrack back to the start. Feels a bit like GT blue grade trail but with much less maintenance so a little overgrown. Some sweet flowing trail though, a real hoot.
Crash one, I fell off a small boardwalk bridge sideways into a four foot deep drainage ditch  My friend Alison whom I work with and whose parents live 7 miles away laughed loudly as I extracated myself from my trench
Crash two, messed up the transition from single track to timber road, over the handlebars leaving me spreadeagled on the road  More hilarity from Alison. She did not crash once although due to over cautious nature of her riding style its likely she'll need new brake pads

Now knackered, 120 mile round trip but bloody good fun, I'll return to Craik ;)

Sounds great  , the place that is, not the crashing :)

No riding for me this weekend; bit knackered yesterday after Friday night in Holyrood Park (even though I had quite a good sleep, it just wasn't long enough!) and spent today looking for a headset cup remover but neither Alpine or Eddy bikes had one - looks like I'll get on online. Got the top cup off with an old set of handlebars but the lower cup needs a something a bit more specialised. Might bleed the brakes on the Norco tonight.

Today we sold 4 of these

http://www.rutlandcycling.com/24722/Tre ... e-5-2.html

They were all in the workshop at the same time , with another frame lying on the floor  fooking light but sadly made of fibreglass . I expect it's a warranty , most of the fibreglass frames are . One guy broke a frame having a go in the carpark

At ten past ten I was putting together a new Kona cinder cone .

Perry when you say 'glass fibre' do you mean 'glass fibre' and not carbon?
And another thing while your on about Kona, I bumped into a guy who was lost while I was out and he was on a 2011 Kona called a Steely a kinda modern Explosif maybe, have you heard of it?

.

Today i discovered whats common knowledge in my Dept. at work. My boss wants something couriered to Perth in Western Australia and is prepared to give the job to someone in the dept. all expenses paid. He offered it to everyone, eventually someone took the bait. Its news to me, I've worked for him solidly for over 6 years quite literally doing all the shit jobs, never once have I received any perks for so doing other than my wages. He then gives the task to someone who doesn't even work for him because they're also a scientist who went to the right university.....................BASTARD

Cattle class (pardon the pun) UK to Oz for a man your height? He did you a favour velo. He's probably chosen someone he hates, I know I would, bloody torture.

1st Your pay isn't a 'PERK' its your right in exchange for your labours.

2nd Be thankful you didn't get the courier job its probably 'DRUGS' and
I don't fancy your chances sharing a cell with dirty big Oz inmate
"you cute little possum".

He didn't do me a favour, he's just an arrogant snob who does not take anyone seriously who doesn't have a good degree from the right University. I have no respect for him nor have had for years but this is just too much

Worse is the fact the ME makes me too knackered to chase a better job plus of course the economic situation means there are no other jobs

Stuck here and pee'd off big time :(
