seems this bike is a bit of a retrobike whore. everyone has had a go.

from what i can make out it was build by lgf

then passed onto pickle

he threw her to the curb and chris v40 had a go

and now she's mine. i am going to turn a blind eye to her shady past. we all have skeletons in our closets and i think i can forgive and forget.

will i ever trust her though?

thankfully every owner has kept the build sympathetic and i aim to continue this. immediate plans are to remove the boosters and swap the elastomer for something that moves a little (chris has given me a few bags of tricks to try). in the longer term i'd like to swap the wheels for something silver.

other than that i am uber happy

Cracking bike that. Loved every ride on her.

Got a brand new (used twice) headset spanner that I brought specially for that bike if you need it. 1" 1/4 IIRC.

cheers!

rode into work this morning (not far by any stretch of the imagination) and the elastomer barely moves although the ride was noticeably more comfortable than the khs. but that could be tyres/pressures.

anyhoo, chris gave me some landrover bushes and i have put 3 and a half of them in place of said elastomer. definately more give in the back end now but doesnt look as good!

about to head home so will report later.

Dave, I like the clean look of this alot. :)

Also great to see a bike that use's a Flexstem, as I had one back in the day, Got it from a cycling m8, as a 17th Birthday present...not bad

Sadly the bike I had it on a 1992 Kona Lavadome was nicked...

Also a bike shop local to me used to stock proflex when they first came out, could never afford em !

I wonder if they could be concealed by a gaiter? possibly used for a fork or caad3 type headset or even a motorbike fork gaiter?
