Aye, I know what you mean, but it's fine - Not really any further than Falkirk is from family and friends, I know the place reasonably well (my ex was living there when I first met her in 19-pancake). And if I can get a place near Kinneil Woods, I'll have some riding right on my doorstep :)

Bo'ness is quite nice, good riding around there, well there was 20 years back. Cyclings not bad either :)

Got my Privateer last week, working my through it very slowly. Jury is still out, a lot of retro content though.
