Ahh. That brings back a memory or two. I had one like that briefly at uni. It was nicked from outside the pub (where else) whilst locked. I never 'got' Konas, perhaps to do with the wider front tyre? That one rode well though and I remember being well impressed with the Suntour stuff. Me thinks you got a bargain!
 
Bargain x 2! Are the shifters thumb shifters? Just had a flashback and seem to recall mine being a bit like rapid fire apart from the levers not returning to a central position. Remember being impressed at the simplicity of them next to the Shimano ones.
 
If it were me... swap those awful overweight forks for some P2s, fit a more suitable stem, raise the saddle to a sensible height and you're done :)

(actually I'm not a fan of V-brakes on a Kona of that vintage, but I'm also a cheapskate so I'd leave them ;-) )

Great buy for 50 quid!
