'91 Orange Prestige - Finished!!!!! - Update on Page 2

Since I remember this bike from new, I can confirm the Specialised Ground Controls. It's even still got the little dealer sticker on - Pedal Power Cycles, Willow Terrace, Douglas  .
I'm very glad that you're pleased with it and that it arrived safely.

The secret to photographing Oranges (orange ones anyway  ) is not to be in direct sunlight and also to get an accurate white balance.

How have the rear canti's been "tweaked" BTW ?

Thanks - it was very frustrating trying to replicate your original pics - I'll give its another go when its finished!

The rear canti had a couple of holes machined in it - it looks great and I'm gong to use it on the front of my GT! (you can see in it one of the pics above).

On the search for some ground controls now..........

I never even noticed - are the front ones not completely relieved then?

Very, very nice and cracking condition for the age.

Your bike obviously, but the IRCs look fine to me.

Lovely, very retro in that format! Frame looks like newer shape though, not sure exactly when they changed shape design then from like that black one to like yours. Mine BITD was like that black one.

Interesting - when was/what is the change in design - I need some citrus education.

The black one and mine look very similar - top tube is a bit different.

Any info appreciated. :D

Top tube inline with wishbone on later ones and longer headtube. Don't take my word for it though, just picked up these notes along the way. Many different specs poss made in factories over years...

Indeed a nice bike! Has to be the *definitive* UK mountain bike of the era. A friend of mine has a very original example, too - owned from new. Sadly it's not for sale...

Cheers

And IRC Mythos are at least as good, if not better, than Ground Contols ;)

And speaking of Mythos.........
