Hey, this is my first proper post here although i've been a browser for a while now. I picked up a bike today for £20 and it turns out to be rather old... After doing some research I would place it around 1948. The frame number is 10344, and based on http://www.nkilgariff.com/HoldsModelPages/LaQuelda.htm, I suspect it is a La Quelda. Please if anyone has any info on these bikes, I would love to know.
It also has some interesting parts, including a Kingfisher saddle which I can't find anything on, and a Campagnolo Gran Sport rear deraileur. If this is original on the bike it would make it a very early model...
Here are some pictures to aid in identifying it, and if you recognise the model please tell me :D

Anyways, thanks in advance for any info, and please say if there are any details i've left out,
Luke

Cant see much, the pics are a little too big and need to show the bike more complete. Look interesting though, the Gran Sport mech is later than 1948.

Ive resized the photos, an will take some more of the whole bike in a while.
When do you think that Gran Sport is from then? I say 1948 because at the time, they were making about 1500 a year and in 1946 the numbers were at 6000. The beginning of 1948 would have brought 9000 and gone up to around 10500.

Once I get some more pictures up could anyone give me a rough idea of value. Will it be worth restoring it or selling as-is (with a clean up)

Cheers,
Luke

According to Velobase, the Gran Sport was produced from 1952, onwards.

sadly the lever is bent, and the rubber is not in great condition. Thanks for the info on the crank, I will check that out when I get a chance.
Regardless of year however does anyone else think it is a La Quelda? If not what other frame could it be.
Thanks for interest so far,
Luke
