rob the limited daylight was kind of the point of the westcoast thread, somewhere for the westcoasters to go quickly after work was the reason for the thread. The weekends and things like the c2c were to suit everyone.
The idea for the thread was as a result of a suggestion to have a friday night east coast ride- which is a great idea (imho) and since this did not seem to take off, I thought CV might get a few eastcoasters out midweek but no response to my suggestion, hence my reply- no offence meant or intended.
