Laurent Fignon RIP

O dear one of my all time schoolboy heros sad sad news a real trier and character.Bob Maitland a local cycling legend also passed away this week :cry:

Thanks. I have just bought it. An action that prompted my bank to ring me wondering if my card had been stolen!
It's nice they care I suppose.

That's a shame, he was a great rider in the 50's and very good as a vet in later years. I met him at the Vets World Championships in St Johann Austria in the 90's. Horrible day, cold and wet. He was crying with the cold at the finish.
 
Very sad :( my favourite cyclist when I first started to get into pro cycling. I've just finished his book a few months ago, he didn't pull any punches. He actually looked quite well in some pics from this years tour :(
