the killer v cometh!

grips

i had some of those clear grips years ago and they didn't last! but i have yeti grips on my airbourne and softer yeti grips on my GT, the ones with the big oval shaped pad, supposedly to save the ulnar nerve, just like the specialised body geometry gloves aim too...

the yeti logo grips are my favourites ....the cream saddle sounds great, the grey idea not bad either...is it going to have a flat bar and bar ends, or a modest riser? i have a nice polished club roost riser from 1995...but my brother is having it for his second P7. good polished bars seem thin on the ground...

Tell me about it! Gutted man, I built someone else a similar killer V a few years back and I used these polished x-lite expert straight bars which is idealy what I'm after, it's a straight polished bar and as for bar ends I'm not sure, I do have a set ready to go on they're red NOS X-lite . . . Can't remember which model but the well finished jobbies with no welds.

about 18 months ago i had to move and a huge purge had to happen...i threw out my rigid GT forks that came with my 98 yellow karakoram frame (bought in 98 i might add!) and also a box full of all sorts...LX and XT front and rear mechs...X-lite expert flat bars in black....a red renthal/pace flat bar...some x-lite pewter bar ends with the welded angled bit and the spun/rounded ends...middleburn cable oiler thingy's a red bullet bros chain tensioner thing...at that time i thought never gonna need this guff...in the landfill with it all!!! now i look back and groan...what a f*cking numpty!!

I'll second that! if it makes you feel any better until I found this website I used to rebuild all these retro beauties with modern parts so I threw out old tatty parts including an XTR 8 speed Titanium cassette so you're not the only numpty on here!

Thanks bud, and I'd love to see what you've done with yours, the Killer V is my favourite retro frame with the Pace RC200 a close second.

I've got about half a dozen or so at the minute but I've built a fair few of them up over the years for me and my mates.

I've added a set of red jockey's, a red h2o, a NOS cream leather Flite Ti saddle, I've swaped the Camlok on the seat for the Ti seat bolt from the same range (As I realised after fitting one to one of my other bikes that I'm to heavy for the QR Camlock) and finally the Onza HOLA's (V brake versions of the Onza Ho's).

Still desperately seeking a polished alloy handlebar so if anyone has a NOS or very very clean top end polished bar (needs to be flat and long) please speak up, I've got loads of great parts to swap.
