Because I can get 5 people and more stuff in it then the so called MPV (company car) I had before!

Saloon and Estates, the way to go.

Because I can fit my 3 children comfortably in the back + luggage and buggy etc in the boot.
 
I've got a HUUUGE sub in the boot and can still get 3 medium sized suitcases in the boot as I take Mr & Mrs Johnson on their Golden wedding anniversary to Heathrow with the Prodigy on full....

Because it was vastly cheaper than the estate version and can still take a >3m length of wood / pipe / conduit with ease, and passengers can sit beside each other in comfort rather than sardinewise :)
