I'm not entirely sure how much the option was as I didn't order the frame myself.
When I started negotiating with the guy in the bike shop he told me that it owed him "about a grand". Who knows how much he actually paid for it, as I presume he would have bought it for cheaper than retail as he worked in a bike shop.
Sorry I can't help, but these are the sorts of answers I've been looking for ever since I bought the frame myself. If anyone can shed any light on how much the option was I'd be very grateful. The current top end Trek Project One paint jobs are rather pricey so I doubt it would have been cheap.
