Having sold my Chute I thought I'd get something that I could knock about on while I finished my Killer V so Started combing through ebay looking for a cheap Cannondale.

After a few days I came across a tatty 1997 Killer V 900 HT (basically a Delta V) which I picked up for £135, I immediately changed a few bits, then a few more and more until All that was left of the original bike was the frameset!

Enter the Wasp!

MMM.... very nice.

Purely aesthetics and personal choice, but not the biggest fan of the bar or the tyres, but bike looks quality overall. £135 was a good deal, are the forks working alright?

Yeah the forks work fine mate and have lockout.

I know what you mean with the bars they're very marmite but personally I love 'em! As far as the tyres go though Panaracer Fire XC pro Kevlar tyres are a great all rounders and aesthetically I think they finish it off well.

The only thing left to go are a pair of Xlite Phatso rims I'm building on a pair of XT 750's to go with the rest of the groupset and possibly a pair of Yellow Onza Ules although I'm not sure if that may be just tipping the balance on the to many yellow bits scale!

Ules are great. Don't stay prestine yellow long though as you probably already know. Either that or take some cleaning!

Hmmmm... I'm not normally a fan of the coloured wall Panaracer Fires, but I must say that they do work well with this bike. If you do go with yellow Ules, (which I reckon you should) then I'd ditch the yellow cable outers.

Nice ride, but purely personal taste I'd go flat bar, blackwall tyres and black saddle.

Otherwise, good to go.

Bargain or what  not a fan of the bars but colour matched tyres look excellent  (I would never do it myself ;) )

the pose the bike is in (do bikes pose) makes it look coquette-ish and shy to be so good looking

I'll get my coat - nice bike Staf!!

tyres

this bike does look very waspish! i really like those yellow sidewalls.. my specialised 'dirt control/dirt master' comps had a yellow stripe on the sidewalls and went well with my yellow karakoram when i first built it up in 98. that x-lite bar is ok actually...keep the tyres as is i say! :)
