GT on Gumtree advice needed

"looks abused plus the seatposts knackered so what does that tell you ? "

How can you tell?

The pic isn't that good surely?

Big Ecks our 'if I cant break it it cant be broke' specialist, he know's these things but unfortunately he seems to have broken himself at the mo

mmmm, thought it might be some sort of super power, maybe get him to buy my next bike if he can tell these things just from a picture, that would save me a bundle for sure.

if you enlarge the picture you'll see flaking paint under the seat clamp , they crack there if you abuse them . i've broke 3 gt's there

and i know everyone rides diffrent but to have the brakes and seat pointing down like they are shows me it's just been someone throwing it around the local woods as it's clearly not been built for comfort :D

dunno man, looks like mud to me. Looks the same as the mud on the down tube where the silver moves into the black.

you'r either intrested in buying or the cheeky owner me thinks

oooh, thats me rumbled then, just testing the water on this forum to see if its the kind of place folk get ripped up for little reason, guess I may have answered my own question.

Yes it is mud and not its not flaked paint, 18" frame on a 6'2" bloke was never going to work, dunno wtf I was thinking.

Got me thinking tough, all my bikes look like that, maybe I'm an odd shape.

hahaha

rumbled on the first post

its not a bad bike actually and to be honest just what velo's looking for

best split it bud

welcome back btw

thought so , i'm not ripping you . i would never say anything on a forum that i wouldnt say to peoples faces and most on here are like that ;)

as for pretending to be someone just looking at a random bike on gumtree through here :? you just could of asked why i said what i said ;)

so i guess a welcome to the site mr random fifer is in order :D what other bikes you got  you got any beter pictures of said gt ?

Hi mikee, never really been away pal, always paddling aboot somewhere.

Ok, since you ask, here is the fleet in no particular order. I use them mostly for hooting about in the woods, I'm sure that's what off road bikes are for. Exception being the skinny tyred speed machines, I tend to use these on the road.

There is another that I haven't photographed, there is a 25th Anniversary Zaskar in its box ready for a build. Number 81 I think it is. Will start the build once I get hold of the Mag wheels I want from the USA sometime in the future.

The commute bike, Cannondale F5,

The latest project, Raleigh Flyer, picked up for no cost. Potential single speed if the BB change results in drivetrain issues. Much thanks to Mikee for the old BB removal.
