Fitting bottle cages to boss-less frames?

You could use the proper clips (ie came with the bottle cage) for attaching a bottle cage, that's what people used in the days when frames usually didn't have braze on bosses, although they might be a bit hard to find now.

Not sure if I've seen those before. Are they cheap?

How about this:

This would fit frame tubes, seat posts or handlebars. I used to have a very retro (1950's) handlebar mount twin bottle cage which had the advantage of being able to use a straw to drink without taking the bottle out of the cage. It also looked suitably period on my Vindec road path thingy.

They are probably only pence. let me know if you want any as I sent a to get some from the LBS a few weeks back.
I can find out tomorrow and PM you. How many bottle cages are you fitting?

If you wouldn't mind I'd be very grateful! I'd probably be fitting 3 or 4 cages, if you could drop me an idea of the price. I'd obviously cover your troubles too...

PM me or my address is leepaulvickersbikes at mac dot com.
