I have this set up for road use (and some softroad work) but it came out as an offroad bike so I post it here.

Frame and Fork: Ritchey MountCross, 1999. 58cm. Filet Brazed by Tom Ritchey
Wheels: King hubs, DT revolution spokes, DT RR1.1 rims, 25mm duraskins
BB: unknown
Cranks: Ritchey Logic compact w 44t Ritchey 2x9 ring (the only remaining original spec)
Chain: Wipperman 908
Derailleur: XT Shadow
Cassette: SRAM XO 11-34
Headset: Chris King
Stem: Ritchey WCS 130mm
Bar: Titec J Bar
Brakes: XT levers, Tektro mini Vs
Cables: Goodridge
Shifter: Paul thumbie, DA 7700
Post: Kalloy
Saddle: fizik Arione
Pedals: M540

Still need to change out rings to 34/46 set up and ultegra derailleur, but other than that, its done. Quick, stiff and fun. The high BB and wide bars make climbing out of the saddle a joy. The J bars arent for eveyone, but I'm enjoying finding new positions for my hands. Its very "cabley" up front but it looks functional so I'm into it. These are hard to find but for a tough roadie, I think they are the business.
