In anycase the fact remains that this little bike was made in 1996 it is a 6061 12.5" aluminium frame

gm claims that it is an avalanche 1997 produced in september 96

how can this be when the smallest 1997 avalanche frames were 14.5

lets be constructive about this for gods sake

gm here is a question for you in front of everyone...dont be afraid if you do not know the answer..

Then you explain how it can be a Zaskar when the catalogs also prove that there were no 12.5 Zaskars produced that early...it's got a curved top cap and it's 6061... so process of elimination...Only two other models in the era were 6061 and have a curved top cap the Avalanche and Avalanche LE....

seriously now lets be constructive about this

you cannot be certain that this bike is a 1997 avalanche???

you know that avalanche were not made in 1997 with a 12.5 frame????

can you correctly identify this bike????

Yes but the so called era you talk about was 1997 and 1998...this bike is 1996 made...no avalanches were made 12.5 in 1997 either

From a personal viewpoint

1996 aluminium frame with curved seat tube says to me NOT ZASKAR

should be like this, Flat as a pancake, sorry if thats not what you want to hear but if it's a 1996 frame and it's a curved seat tube then it screams at me NOT ZASKAR. If I stumbled across your Ad on ebay I would think thats a frame decaled to look like a Zaskar. Forget about the serial Numbers and the 6061 alloy, lets concentrate on the 'curve.' Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but 1996 Zaskar Curved or Flat?

Still a decent looking little bike though
