Retro Orange P7 Mountian Bike - ideas of value?

Modfather

Retro Newbie
Hi - I have just bought an old Retro Orange P7 (believe it is from 97 looking at the magazines on here) - does anyone know its approximate value? It is in very good condition - looking at the forks alone they seem to go for about 70 quid on ebay.

Cheers

Depends what the forks are and what spec the bike has.

As far as Orange frames... A Clockwork frame sold for £200 a while back on the bay, but a Prestige frame didn't get one bid at £39.99... go figure!

You realise pretty quickly that retro-bikes don't actually have a 'value', as they're only worth what someone is willing to pay at the time and that swings wildly from one month to the next as we're a fickle bunch.

Value?

Silly as this may sound, but the size of the frame affects value big style. Smaller frames always fetch a lot more money, as generally there were fewer of them made, as back then frames were sized more like road bikes and in truth were too big for the folks that bought them. Today people are realising this and wanting small frames.
I have seen large size top end Ti frames go for peanuts and small size older and tatty crmo frames go for big money. Cycling as a sport strangely is also more popular with smaller people! Weird but true.

Pedalling stunts your growth, fact.
