and as a wee appetizer i've cut'n'pasted this from the route description:

Time - - 2-2.5 hours (Ascent 1 hour 30mins - descent 35 mins) (from Inveresk car park)

Distance - 10 miles (round trip)

Height attained - 700 metres (2300 feet)

could read as.... outward journey looks hell, climb 2300 feet in 5 miles in 1 hour 35 mins


Mount Keen does sound good, I have walked Glen Doll nearby too, it's a really nice area.

Done Mt Keen from the glen tanar side a few times, cracking run from the top with a very scenic ride in. Proper Scottish riding...
 
I've walked this donkey's years ago, when doing the ascent of Mount Keen, 'Scotland's most boring Munro'. We spent a while trying to establish which pile of stones on the bleak plain that is the 'top' actually was the top.

It'll be okay on a bike though.
 
Wholly depends on dates, but I would like to join in. The new guy from Aberdeenshire might also be interested as it is near him.
 
Hmmm, this is closer than I thought. Date/baby sitter dependent, yes. About time I did some proper big country stuff.
