Remind me early next week as I'm going dark for a few days

Fitted new record cassette, kmc gold chain, record chainset...

Also got a new back plate for my LH ergo from mercian cycles. These chaps are ace! Phoned friday afternoon, part was with me saturday morning.

Just waiting on white panto'd bar tape, and she is done

Very tidy. That is a great colour for a 90s master.

Have you considered skinwall veloflex?

That's a lotta seatpost too.

Cheers John, I have been thinking of veloflex, sure, but Im still in two minds - I love these service course michelins, they roll and ride beautifully.

The seatpost is a funny thing, it looks less when looking at the bike 'in person' as it were. Maybe the angle I look down from

Hows your colnago consideration going??

Quiet at work, so I popped home, put the new tape on, and took a few quick pics...

very nice!! I've not seen such extended head/seat tube before

Me neither...

Someone suggested it may have been a team frame. Other ideas suggest a vague dabble at 'semi compact' geometry. I have no idea why its like that...

in a manner of speaking, yes

what you see is colnago's "Freuler" dropped top-tube design, developed for big swiss rider Urs Freuler in the '80s to maintain frame stiffness in the big frame size he required.

Miguel Indurain used to ride Pinarello's with Banesto with the extended head tube design. I think Wallyman's idea is possibly correct as he was a big strong bloke as well.
