My 1984 Raleigh in raleigh / panasonic team colours

Dirt Disciple
This was my dream frame as a 12 year old in Belfast. I bought it two years ago when I decided that none of the custom builders I was looking at got me as excited as this old gem. It took me ages to track it down; finally finding it in Canada. I built it with semi-correct Campagnolo... though a purist will spot the odd ball mix n' match. Sorry the picture is crappy. I had just returned from wringing myself out on New Jersey's version of the Alps... (a whopping six mile climb  ) on a typically hot Summer day. The bike rides very nicely and hasn't lost anything in the 26 years since it was first sold.

I've picked up a modern Bianchi so I can put the Raleigh away in bad weather.

Nice to see one in such good condition.

One of Raleigh's most iconic and distinctive paint jobs. I had a replica version for my first decent road bike as a teenager... think it was called a Europa.

god it's amazing the sight of something like this does to your brain!! was it a custom built frame or off the shelf, do you know?

lovely!
