Suntour XC PRO setup

Fancy using some XC Pro on a project.Just wanted to know whats the score with the hubs? Seen various cassette hubs on Ebay but realise a Shimano cassette won't fit? Also isn't the indexing different from Suntour to Shimano which rules out using Suntour thumbies with a Shimano cassette? Spose you could use it ok on friction? Any help welcome! Thanx Max
 
Suntour 7 speed thumbies work fine with Shimano 7/8 blocks.

I loved the whole 'grease guard' longevity thing :)
 
Yeah.Loved the early Suntour stuff.Think it was the lightest groupset around at the time.Does anyone know if a Shimano cassette will fit on a Suntour hub? Not really sure! Thanx Max
 
Certainly seem to remember using a different cassette removal tool. I'm sure it had only two prongs on it. There was a time when shops gave the stuff away. I picked up a set of XC-Pro hubs withe the Grease Guard port and a six speed cassette (possibly a screw on block) for five pounds brand new. It was at one of those regular cycle-sale-at-the-leisure-centre things. I may even get them built into wheels one day!
 
I have XCpro BB with grease guard. 113wide if your interested?
