Does anyone have any info?

Very nice :D
But the decal looks printed on rather than a sticker :? .
could it be from an exhibition bike?,shop sample for the cabinet to hold the brake. If so then it could be by anyone.
Its not a hub shape i recognise.grub screws on the end caps :? Take it to bits and see if theres any clues inside :D

The decals are definately printed on, and also on the raised bit so it looks very original.

It is at my wheelbuilders at the moment so I will get his thoughts on it soon.

I've looked everywhere but to no avail

Thanks

I'm composing an email at the moment to Clarks to see if they ever produced this hub

Hope they will give some info..

:D

Well here is my email and the short but to the point reply.

I Guess they aren't really bothered about old parts anymore but at least they replied.

Hello there and thanks for taking time out to read this email.

I am just after some information about a rear hub I purchased recently. I have attached some photos.

As a proud owner of Clarks Clim8 6pot brakes on my Retro Kona Stinky Dee-Lux, I spotted a Clim8 branded rear hub and decided to purchase it.

When it arrived I was VERY impressed as the workmanship was amazing, spun from a single piece of Aluminium and with grubscrews holding the end caps on, which I have not seen on any other hub and anyone I ask have not seen this either.

After much searching on the internet and asking on the most reliable website for answers, www.retrobike.co.uk , I have come up with no answers.

Here is the Post on the forum asking for info ... http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... 138#734138

The hub looks Very much original, with the CLIM8 logo printed on and NOT a sticker.

I was just wondering if anybody at your company could shed some light on this hub.

Thanks very much for your time

Hi Adam

The Clim8 hub is no longer available and was used really at the launch of the 6pot Clim8 brake.

Thanks for your email

So it looks like it is actually real and a very early example.

Oh and apparently my LBS are STILL waiting for spokes to build it into a wheel.

At this rate it will be a wallhanger :D

looks to me like a quando hub, from the far east. dmr are big into quando hubs, as well as specialised and most of the other bigger manufacturers. pretty nice hubs but hard to get service parts for. i have had a set of dmr singlespeed hubs now for about 7-8 years, and they are smooth as the day i got them.
