The NW&NWA 'Bike of the Ride' Competition 2010!!!

On each and every NW&NWA ride one lucky Retrobike will be judged 'Bike of The Ride'. How its judged will be be on a random basis decided by the ride leader, if you win you get one of these unique seat tube stickers.

Gisburn Forest - Raleigh Dyna-Tech - sinnett177 ~ decided by a small child during the ride.



Creme Egg - Llyn Brenig - 1993 Specialized Stumpjumper M2 - decided by a pub landlord after the ride, without even seeing the bikes.



Macclesfield Forest Part 2 - Proflex - OrangeEd71 (also won mechanical of the ride three times) ~ decided by some passing riders who took pity on it being repaired again during the ride.



Three Tribes - Kona Kilauea - volvo1980's mate Alex (Guest rider) ~ decided by a fellow rider shortly after the ride.



The Lake District - Coniston and Grizedale - 1993 Team Raleigh Dyna Tech - Sinnett177 again ~ decided by forum poll.

Mr K's Peaks ride - Saracen - Kaya (also won mechanical of the ride) ~ decided on the basis of 'the next mechanical wins' during the ride.



Llandegla - Orange Clockwork - HarryCrumb ~ decided by the ride leaders during the ride.



The return of Macclesfield Forest - 1992 Kona Fire Mountain - MrLee ~ decided by forum poll.



Rivington Pike - Saracen Tuff Trax - kaytronika ~ decided by ride leaders during the ride.



Roman Lakes and Mellor Moor - Marin Team Titanium - HarryCrumb ~ decided by votes from all other riders at the end of the ride.



'The Chicken Chaser' - Buxton area - Kona Cinder Cone - HarryCrumb (again!) ~ decided by votes from all other riders/athletes, in a chippy during the ride.

I wouldn't waste bringing titanium on the Creme Egg ride.... ;-)

More randomness at Pauls latest Macclesfield ride. BoTR went to OrangeEd's Proflex, proving reliability isn't needed to win the coveted title.

I guess this is what happens when sympathetic modern riders on big bouncy bikes get to choose their favourite bike. Pick out the one that looked the most like their own and pity the fact it had a puncture. :roll:

Still, at least on this ride the judges actually saw the bikes this time.

I suppose at least this 'Bike of the Ride' stuff can't ever be called predictable.
