I've just been charged by an ebay user for postage insurance of £1 on an item which only cost £4.99 incl postage anyway. I asked him and got the following reply:

"Its for insurance. We have to insure items when paying by paypal."

Is this right? I've never had it before and besides it wasn't mentioned in his listing (see following listing: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 88373&rd=1)

they didn't charge me. for a U brake £13. But that was many months ago and i know PP have change the rules of buying. It is very naughty of them not state it in the ad.

"Postal insurance
£1.00 Optional"

That's what it says on the add - which by my reckoning means you don't have to if you don't want.

I know it's only a quid but it's the principle really isn't it.

Maybe bring it to the attention of ebay - they might be making a air bit of money from this...
