Can Anyone Think...

...why the hell I can't thread a new brake inner cable through the lever of my Gazelle Lo Pro? Like a steering wheel down my trousers, it's driving me nuts! The levers are Mavic and I really don't want to remove the bar tape.

Any ideas?

Is it the cable its self? or the head on the end? I had a mind boggling hour or so threading cables into a set of Capagnolo shifters where the heads just wouldn't sit. Then I realized they're brand specific Campy has thinner clearances for cable heads than Shimano.

If you are still stuck ,try this, remove lever from bars leaving clip in place.Thread inner cable into lever and then into the outer cable thats still attached to the bars.Pull the inner cable through, then re-attach the lever, making sure you don't crush the cable.Sometimes you can get away with just loosening the lever ,the extra movement helps get the inner cable into the outer. Can be a real PITA on low pros :D

put the cable in a vice and twist the bike round and round until it goes in.

LGF - thinking out of the box.
