My friend has made his sales (thanks to moi) and now has a pocket full of cash. He wants an all round type frame to replace his old Galaxy which was a little too big but he absolutely loved.

He is considering a Salsa Casseroll or a Pearson Compass Touring. Both modern, both steel but he's not sure about the mass production of the Pearson and likes the idea of a sloping top tube and he doesn't like the straight fork on the Salsa.

Can you guys suggest something?

I'd second the crosscheck, I built this light tourer and it was very nice.

Thanks for your suggestions guys :)

Thats very nice Zedman :D Has it got a sloping top tube? It looks like it has but I thought they were horizontal top tubes.

Paul Hewitt looks promising. Kona Sutra has straight forks like the Casseroll. He doesn't like the idea of the made in Taiwan workmanship of the newer Galaxy's. He's a bit fussy you see :? lol - nah not really he just want's to make the right choice....

Morning

Yes it's a sloping top tube.
