I miss my old GTE 8V.
Torquey as buggery, think there was something wrong with at the time because it had so much grunt low end but didn't like going near the rev limiter. Normally these have very flat torque curves which makes brilliant A n B road blaster knocking the socks off the revy 16v

Pushed a piston through the block finally, couldn't find an original GTE engine for it so went with the cavaliar SRi, was never the same :cry:

I've had 2 Cav 1.7 TD's BITD, lovely motors :cool:

There's a guy near my office, Powercrazy Motorsport, who fettles Vauxhalls. He specialises in V6 transplants :p Novas, Corsa, Tigras etc. His current runabout is a bog standard looking Nova Flair, little bit of rust on the arches, steel wheels, 5 door.....but a firespitting V6 under the bonnet, large diameter exhaust with pea shooter back box to fool people at the lights! :LOL:

His current project is a Corsa GSi with 2 V6 engines :shock: I've seen it.....MAD :shock:
 
Aye im a vauxhall boy at heart and one of the staff members of the PNGclub, ive heard of powercrazy motorsport and seen a few of their conversions, V6's into novas and corsas is becoming a very common thing now as another alternative to 2.0 16v conversions and the amount of turbo'd ones about is unreal, and thankfully they have lost the chav image these days and are rightfully being seen as classics :cool:

Id love an astra GTE especially a mk1 but finding a tidy one is a very very hard task these days unfortunately :cry:

yeah cup 3's off a non turbo 993 i believe. sadly 9" wibe on the rear with a 205 tyre. still catching suspension so might have to relocate the damper. currrently trying to find some 16's (or bbs split rims.mmmmm)
 
This is sitting under a cover in the garage. Comes out a few times a year.
