Stick it on a grinder and see if you get white sparks!!
The post will have an alloy insert to support the cradle, it will be a different colour(silver) compared to the rest of the post.
It does look like the ti post

Could you measure the distance from the axle to bottom of headstock, depending on this I might be interested, thanks.

The colour of the post suggests to me that it's titanium, if that's any help.

Hi, after much debate decided to keep hold of it all - it's not gonna fetch much money & worth to much sentimentally.
